At the time of his disbarment, Phoenix was in a long distance relationship with Miles Edgeworth, while the latter studied law overseas, Phoenix ended the relationship, making it clear that he did not want Miles to return from overseas. Four years later, Miles finally returned from abroad and returned to prosecuting. He made a point of forcing Phoenix to meet him, having tracked him down with Detective Gumshoe's help. A year after this, the two picked up their relationship.

Phoenix, with Miles' help, continued to seek out information about his last case, though his involvement with Phoenix was kept quiet, to avoid complications in their investigation. Gumshoe, Maya, and Larry were happy to help.

Satisfied that he had finally proven that he was in no way involved in the forgery that saw him disbarred, Phoenix was encouraged by his partner of two years, Miles Edgeworth (only having gotten back in touch with him three years prior), to reapply for his bar and return to practicing law. If he did not, he risked being banned from practicing law for life.

On a whim, he did reapply and was accepted back in the California bar. The letter of apology from the State of California was thrown into the trash. He has yet to take a case, preferring to recommend any interested clients to having Apollo Justice as their attorney. He still plays Poker as a hobby and has actually begun looking into completing his theater degree at Ivy University.

Edgeworth supports his parter, and having mellowed out over the years, tolerates his free-form attitude. He doesn't particularly like Phoenix's flirty ways, but satisfied with their lifestyle, he finds himself in a strange dressing room one day... what adventures to be had here, he wonders, while trying to prepare for his new part-time job.

As a professor in the University Phoenix now attends. ♥
